Snow Day From Dawn Till Dusk

We woke up this morning to SNOW!!! And a lot of it, which is such a treat because we really never get snow like this on the valley floor. By 7:30, yes a.m., we were in our snow gear from head to toe and out playing, by 8:00 we had built a snow man. P had to call both sets of Grandparents to make sure that they knew it was snowing, yes at 7:30, he was very excited and said "Christmas came, get out your Christmas stuff so we can play in the snow." We played for a few hours then came in to eat a yummy breakfast of pancakes, sausage and eggs. We were just getting ready for church when we got the call that it was cancelled. So by 11:30 we were back outside and on our way to find some place to go sledding. We walked to some ponds by our home and found a suitable hill for the kids. Since we were at the ponds P decided to go play in the water, yes it was snowing and about 38 degrees outside, and yes he was in head to toe snow gear but that does not mean that my water baby isn't going to take advantage of a perfectly good body of water and take a quick dip. Luckily his snow gear did a pretty good job of keeping him warm and dry, despite being submerged in the water. We came in for a couple more hours so Busy could take a nap, and we could throw P's gear in the dryer, then it was back out till 7:30p.m. when we came in to go to bed. So it really was a wonderful day and we are LOVING this fantastic weather and hope it sticks around for a few days.

Does he look cold??? That is what happens when you go swimming on a day like today.
